CALL FOR ACTORS!
Are you looking to add interesting experience to your portfolio?
The Museums of Burlington is seeking actors to re-enact historical characters during a special event at the historic Ireland House at Oakridge Farm, a living history site!
DETAILS: Actors would be in period costume and supplied with the history of the house and the family that inhabited it over the years. Individuals who take this opportunity on can choose to represent original Ireland House family members or create fictional historic characters. Actors will be positioned throughout the house, and can choose to script scenarios in particular rooms or areas of the house or circulate and engage with our visitors throughout the duration of the event with stories, activities or otherwise improvised scenarios based on historic information fully supplied to them.
Ireland House: Built between 1835-1837, Ireland House was the home of Joseph Ireland, an English Immigrant and one of Burlington’s earliest settlers. In 1987, the City of Burlington purchased the property from the Estate of Marie Ireland Bush and Ireland House at Oakridge Farm became Burlington’s second museum. Through guided tours with costumed historical interpreters, educational programming, historical demonstrations and special events, Ireland House at Oakridge Farm interprets the lives of the Ireland family, the historic farmstead with its buildings, yards, gardens, and contents as they were acquired and used by the Ireland family from the 1830s until the 1900s.
