Joseph Brant Museum and Ireland House at Oakridge Farm offer
pre-booked programs weekday evenings and on Saturdays and
Sundays.
Booking Procedure
Minimum booking number: 15
Youth Group Leaders and one (1) supervisor for every 10
children are admitted free. We recommend that group size
be limited to 30 children. This will ensure that
participants receive a hands-on, interactive program.
Payment, by cash or cheque, is due upon arrival. Youth Group
Leaders and supervisors will be charged a nominal fee to
participate in the craft portion of a program.
Programs should be booked at least 4 weeks in advance.
We strongly recommend that Christmas programs be booked
4-8 weeks in advance. The museums will accept a tentative
booking but every effort must be made to confirm the booking
within 2-3 days.
Confirmation of booking will be sent out within 7 days
of the booking.
Please note that during our Christmas programming season,
only "Victorian Christmas" is offered at Ireland
House at Oakridge Farm and only "Winterfest" at
Joseph Brant Museum.
Cancellation Policy
A group may cancel a booking, without penalty, with 24-hours
notice of cancellation. After that time, the group will be
charged the minimum booking number of fifteen (15).
Museums' staff may cancel a booking due to inclement weather
and/or circumstances beyond their control. Staff will make
every effort to contact the group leader with as much advance
notice as possible.
In the case of inclement weather, we ask the group leader
to re-confirm the booking before 12 noon on the day of the
program.
Please note that in the case of inclement weather, if Burlington
and Halton schools are closed, the Museums will also be closed
Special Requirements
Please advise us of any children with special needs or allergies.
Please be aware that there is wheelchair accessibility for
the first floor only at Joseph Brant Museum. There is no
wheelchair washroom access at Joseph Brant Museum. Oakridge
Interpretive Centre at Ireland House at Oakridge Farm is
wheelchair accessible including the washrooms. Ireland House
itself is not wheelchair accessible.
