Applefest Fall Fair!

September 25, 2011 from 09:00AM until 04:00PM

It’s an old-fashioned fall fair right here in the city! Enjoy the fruit of the season and take part in scarecrow making, pony rides and face painting. See antique tractors and, pioneer apple schnitzing and old-time apple cider making. Artisans, music and live country-style entertainment all day! Plenty of apple specialties and a country BBQ!

Country-style home-made pancakes & specialty syrup!
 
“If you enjoy a taste of the country, you will love Applefest Fall Fair.” It’s a fun event for the whole family with the exciting activities and attractions of a country fair. Bigger and better than ever, Applefest will celebrate the changing of the seasons with fantastic games, crafts, FREE live musical entertainment and delicious “Harvest Fare” food such as country-style BBQ, delicious apple treats including apple blossoms with caramel sauce, apple cider and of course, apple pie!
 
What can you expect?
Main Stage:
11:45-12:45 Skyway Bluegrass
1:30/2:30 Brown Ale
3:15 Applefest Fall Fair Prince & Princess contest and awards with Corrie Cunningham (Juggle Magic, children's entertainer)
AND AT VARIOUS TIMES:
Dance demonstrations and lessons by the Halton English Country Dancers, Halton Line Dancers and Scottish Country Dancers on the main stage and in our “Barn” Dance area!

  • Make your own lavender sachet with Lavender Farms
  • Wool Dyeing-Demonstration & Rug-hooking
  • Wood Carving-Demonstrations

  • Steps to Health-Apple Scented Soap Making,
  • Art Glazed Over-Apple Scent ceramic ornament
  • SPCA-Small Animal Exhibition: bunnies and guinea pigs
  • Abbey Stained Glass-Making Stained Glass Art
  • Antique Cars, Antique Tractors & Miniature tractor display
  • Blacksmith-Working with iron and metal demonstrations
  • Vendors Crafter and Artisans
  • Apple Farmers of Ontario and Farmers Feed Cities Display
  • Hay Maze, Fall Harvest Obstacle Course and Games
  • Pony Rides (12-3pm)
  • Junior Farmer Competitions, Games & Fair-Style Activities
  • Historic Cooking and Educational Demos:
  • Experience apple schnitzing and apple cider making, Museum Tours
  • Trifles and Treasures Sale & Silent Auction
  • Crafts such as Yo-yo Making, Wood-cut decorations & Pumpkin Faux Stained Glass
  • Scarecrow-Making and Horticultural society arrangements 

 And visit our NEW old-fashioned “General Store” and purchase some delectable items just like in the good ol’ days!

 All proceeds from Applefest go to Museums’ educational programs and preservation of the historic collection.

Live Entertainment for children and adults! Costumed dancing demonstrations, fun carnival style games and attractions! Enjoy vendors and more!!! Only $5.00 for children and $2.00 for adults. Every Family receives a complimentary pumpkin (While supplies last) and goody bags for the children.
