VENDOR INFORMATION 2012
We are planning our 2012 special events at the Museums of Burlington and we would like to invite you to join us as a vendor for this year’s special events season. Once again, we are offering an opportunity to participate in all of our events which host outdoor vendors ~ Mother’s Day Royal Tea & Queen’s Jubilee, Strawberry Social, Joseph Brant Day and Applefest Fall Fair.
If you are interested in joining us for this year’s events, please email us. After you complete the registration form we provide you, you may return it along with your payment to Ireland House to the attention of Special Events.
Mother’s Day Royal Tea & Queen’s Jubilee event ~ May 13th, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. This event celebrates Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee; it will include outstanding entertainment, performances, special guest, re-enactors along with royal carriage rides. Come and be a part of history as we celebrate such a majestic occasion.
Strawberry Social ~ July 1st, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. ~ This is an annual event held every July 1st at Joseph Brant Museum. The event celebrates Canada Day with a variety of activities, games, crafts, museum tours, special performances and features ice cream with fresh strawberries as a specialty. Attendance last year exceeded 4500 people.
John Brant Day Festival ~ Monday, August 6th, 10 a.m. -5 p.m. ~ Held at La Salle Park in Burlington, this Civic Holiday event attracts between 4,000-8,000 people. The regionally recognized Joseph Brant Day is a full day heritage festival that celebrates history and one of Burlington’s original settlers and national figures: Joseph Brant Thayendanegea. In 2012, a special year lies ahead with the long-running Joseph Brant Day Festival being dedicated to John Brant in light of the War of 1812 celebration! John Brant was the son of Joseph Brant and an important figure in the War of 1812! The historical experience will include various re-enactments, a military skirmish, encampments and other historically interpreted activities and events as well as native culture interpretation, The festival also includes activities for all ages, live music and unique performances, exhibitors and displays, interactive activities and games, artisans, crafters and other attractions. Each year this event grows in attendance and public interest. Vendors and exhibitors are a large part of this event.
Applefest Fall Fair ~ Sunday, September 30th, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The day kicks off with a Pancake Breakfast from 9am-11am. The fall harvest celebration, from 11am-4pm is held at Ireland House at Oakridge Farm and features a wide variety of apple themed things to see do and eat along with all the traditional country harvest fair activities, artisans, music and live entertainment all day. The event draws over 1,500 people and grows with each year.
If you are a food vendor, you may contact the Museums for further information on how to proceed. The Museums of Burlington selectively work with food vendors under special conditions which include the due process of applying for a Halton Health Board food vendor permit. Any other non-approved food vendors are not permitted to sell food or any edible products at anytime to the public at the museums’ events and on museums property as per the Halton Health Department.
If you would like to rent a table for display purposes, there is a $20.00 rental charge. If you would like to rent a chair, the rental charge is $2.50. Tables will not be provided unless the rental fee is paid ahead of time. All our events run rain or shine and fees are non-refundable.

Joseph Brant Museum is located at 1240 North Shore Blvd. E., Burlington.
LaSalle Park is located at 50 North Shore Blvd. (LaSalle Park Dr. & North Shore Blvd.)
