MUSEUM ON WHEELS

Heritage for $ 2.00/day!

Edu-kits are a great way to create hands on experiences in the setting of your choice. We have two different types of Edu-kits available for rental, our CLASSROOM KIT and our COMMUNITY KIT.

SCHOOLROOM EDUCATION KIT

Bring the Museum into your classroom and allow students the opportunity to explore hands-on artifacts and photographs to discover details about Burlington’s past. This education kit includes a teacher resource with sample activities for grades K to 6. Materials in the kit may be integrated into your program as a whole class activity, or an independent learning station.  This kit may also be used to compliment your classes’ pre or post visit to our Museums.

Designed with teachers in mind this kit consults with the Ontario Board of Education Curriculum.   Please contact either site of the Museums of Burlington for booking details and put your HANDS ON HERITAGE.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION KIT

If you would like to experience some of the many heritage stories of  Burlington, but are unable to visit, this Museum in a Box contains various learning and fun materials to either take a walk down memory lane or learn about the distant past.  Discover the importance of local history through the Ireland family, Joseph Brant and other prominent Burlington families without leaving your home.  Learn about pioneer and early urban life in Burlington spanning the years 1830 to 1910 through the activities, crafts and hands on artifacts included.

For a fee of just $75 an Educator accompanies the kit for a visit to your community organization. Targeting the Greater Halton Region groups that wish to visit the museums but cannot for particular accessibility reasons, mobility or economic realities are encouraged to contact us for more information.
