Burlington, ON - Monday August 2nd—Civic Holiday Weekend - Look forward to another spectacular year for Joseph Brant Day, a five hours day filled with fantastic line-up of new music, activities, performances and acts! The event runs from 10:00am to 5:00pm at LaSalle Park located at 50 Northshore Boulevard.
 
Joseph Brant Day is the regionally recognized annual festival put on by the Museums of Burlington. The event always draws a large and diverse crowd. It fosters a great sense of community by encouraging them come out and celebrate the city we live in and one of the area’s earliest and most famous settlers—Joseph Brant Thayendanegea!
 
To start off the day and the exciting scheduled line-up of music and entertainment at Joseph Brant Day, the Burlington Teen Tour Band (11:30am) will get hearts racing! After our opening ceremonies, you can expect to see: the dazzling Sophisticated Swing, a 19-piece big band orchestra (12:30pm), and the special music of Gail Obediah (3:00pm), captivating the senses with traditional native sounds blended with contemporary blues and jazz.
 
Main attractions include: The fascinating world of The Travelling Reptile Zoo (all day with feature shows) and JuggleMagic that will be sure to capture hearts and imaginations (all day)! The Lost Dancers of the Six Nations with their mesmerizing presentation of art, dance and Six Nations culture (4:00pm)! The rhythms of a community drum circle presented by Power Circle of Burlington (all day)! Militia drilling demonstrations, canoe building and historic re-enactors who will bring history to life (all day).
 
Participants will be able to get interactive in a range of activities throughout the day, including: Museum’s craft workshops, Hamilton Tiger-Cats football toss for the kids, Fair-Style Games, School in the Woods Survival School and a treasure hunt adventure!
 
Also, ALL DAY LONG activities will be: Boat Rides at Lasalle Park Marina! Hamilton Tiger-Cats Interactive Trailer! Museums’ Discovery Area! Artisans & Vendors! Giant Inflatables, Special Exhibitors! Games! School in the Woods!
 
Look for appearances by the Wave 94.7 Cruiser and the CNE Mascot Alex! ...and more to come!!
 
Special Attraction Alert!: RE/MAX HOT AIR BALLOON RIDES (9am-12pm)!
 
As always, we will have our community exhibitors, a delicious summer BBQ and refreshment stands, splash park for kids, games, crafts and hands-on, heritage activities, games with prizes, the famous Joseph Brant Day Silent Auction and other great things to see and do! And for our guest’s convenience, shuttles will transport visitors from local parking lots such Aldershot high school once parking at LaSalle Park is filled for the duration of the event. And last but not least, admission to the event will remain free!
