The Crazy Years: The Fashion Renaissance of the 1920s
January 12, 2011
The Joseph Brant Museum’s new costume exhibition, The Crazy Years: The Fashion Renaissance of the Roaring 1920 has been met with wonderful reviews by our visitors. Now, for the winter season, we are enhancing the exhibit with winter fashions to show the full range of attire from this important time in women’s fashions. The exhibition features several dresses from the Eileen Collard Costume Collection, as well as hats, shoes, purses and other accessories popular at that time. A media component showcases images and music from the era, visually highlighting a decade recovering from the First World War and embracing a new-found freedom and attitude that included the women's rights movement, the jazz era and the influence of Black Culture.
